Writing competition

Become a freelance writer for ALIYANA magazine!

Each month, ALIYANA magazine is hosting a writing competition to give the young and inspired a chance to become a journalist for an online journal.

One artist will be chosen from each month, in which they will be granted the opportunity to write one article for an upcoming issue of the magazine. The competition will run for 12 months. Winners will be announced online and be notified via email.

You must submit a short story no later than the 24th of each month, starting from May 2009. Make sure that the content of the short story adheres to the general terms and conditions of ALIYANA magazine

All recipients must agree to act in a manner which abides by the following terms and conditions:
Only registered members may enter the competition
The competition is only opened to persons over the age of 18, residing in South Africa, except the employees of ALIYANA magazine, ZAYBIZ web development, promotional partners, family members and any business associates.
The judge’s decision is final; no correspondence will be entered thereafter
If selected, entrants may only enter the competition once.
Prizes are non-transferable. They may not be exchanged for cash.
Winners of competitions may be required to be photographed for publicity purposes.
ALIYANA magazine will not publish anything that is in breach of someone else’s copyright, trademark, trade secret or patent, or the disclosure of information that is bound by a confidentiality agreement or obligation. If you quote someone in your post, it’s up to you to credit the quote’s original author.
ALIYANA magazine reserve the right to cancel the competition without notice at any time, if deemed necessary in their opinion, or if unforeseen circumstances arise outside of their control. In the event of such cancellation, all participants agree to waive any rights that they may have in terms of this competition and acknowledge that they have no recourse against ALYANA magazine, its employees, agents, partners, sponsors or promoters.
ALIYANA magazine, our competition partner/s and their respective shareholders shall not be liable in any way whatsoever for any loss, damage, injury or costs, howsoever arising, suffered due to this competition.
